What we do
Our services fall in to five main categories:
Critical Insight
We provide business planning and business strategy advice to both early-stage
and more developed companies. Luck may sometimes play a part in building
a successful biobusiness. But it's no substitute for a well-researched
and smartly executed strategy. We work with companies to develop robust
business plans that provide both a compelling investment case and a solid
foundation for turning a great idea in to a successful business.
Critical Intelligence
We have deep expertise in providing qualitative and quantitative market
research, trends and statistical analysis of the biotech sector in Europe
and beyond. Timely, reliable information is the bedrock of good decision-making
for all biotech stakeholders. We provide ongoing macro-level market intelligence
to government and regulatory bodies to support policy development. We
provide companies with micro-level intelligence - not just the hard statistics
but vital intelligence that explains what the numbers are saying in any
given context.
Critical Implementation
We provide virtual business development support. This is particularly
useful for early-stage companies who can't justify a full-time business
development function, but who still need to develop strategic relationships
or secure contracts. We work with management to identify potential strategic
partners and clients, research their requirements and develop tailored
pitches to suit, make the right introductions, and support management
throughout the deal-making process.
Critical Investment
We help companies develop their financing strategy and identify the most
appropriate investors for their needs. Knowing which investors to approach
- and, equally important, who not to approach - is as important as knowing
how to pitch your investment proposition to them. We work closely with
the leading bioscience investors internationally. We thus have an excellent
knowledge of the individuals concerned and their investment preferences
- in terms of technology, company maturity, level of investment and their
likely interest in acting as lead investor for particular investment propositions.
Critical Image
We provide communications advice to companies at all stages of their
development. Critical I's principals have over thirty years experience
in this area. First as industry commentators on the receiving end of corporate
communications. Secondly, as communications advisers to both quoted and
unquoted companies from across the bioscience spectrum. We help companies
devise an overall communications framework which will drive their tactical
investor and media relations activities.
